Audit Plus
When clients approach us, seeking to understand and manage their intellectual property, we typically recommend starting with an IP audit, a crucial first step in effective intellectual property management.
For strategic reasons and because of accessible funding opportunities, an IP audit is an efficient and cost-effective way to initiate your intellectual property management. With your enrolment in the Innovate UK Edge support program, you become eligible for the IP Audits Plus scheme. This scheme enables you to apply for a £2,500 grant, which can be utilised to assess your business with a focus on intellectual property with an approved provider such as ourselves.
If you believe this approach aligns with your business strategy, we stand ready to guide you through the application process or conduct an audit of your intellectual property if you’ve already secured funding. If you are not able to secure grant funding we can still help you with a privately funded IP audit.
Intellectual Property
Access
In 2021, the UK government published their Innovation Strategy. In it, they acknowledge how important innovation is going to be when it comes to tackling some of the country’s largest and most complex challenges.
In recent years, the UK Intellectual Property Office supplemented the IP Audits Plus scheme by providing additional funds via the IP Access fund. This was intended to help businesses implement the recommendations from their intellectual property audits, with exclusive grants reaching up to £5,000, including VAT.
However, as of the 2023/2024 fiscal year, no further IP Access grants are being offered. While we remain optimistic about the potential for future funding, currently, there’s no financial aid available through the Intellectual Property Office to implement the suggestions from a funded intellectual property audit. As a result, companies are now required to either self-fund their intellectual property implementations or seek alternate grant funding from sources such as Innovate UK and various other national and local grant awards.
