With over eight years of experience in intellectual property strategy and patent analytics, Zak specialises in patent drafting, prosecution and IP data analytics across a range of industries, including engineering, multimedia, automotive and aerospace. His expertise lies in integrating IP data into IP strategies, optimising patent portfolios and identifying competitive opportunities through data-driven insights.
Throughout his career, he has worked with leading companies such as Ford Motor Company and Rolls-Royce, supporting innovation in electrification, hybrid technology and advanced manufacturing. Zak’s work has influenced technology investment decisions, risk assessments and strategic patent development, ensuring organisations maximise their IP potential.
He holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University and a BEng in Aerospace Engineering from Brunel University. Additionally, he is a Part-Qualified UK and European Patent Attorney, with certifications from Bournemouth University and the EQE Pre-Examination.
